Environmental Statement and Policy

Environmental Statement

DroneField Media is a small, independently run business providing digital, media, software, drone-related and online services.

As a small one-person business, we recognise that even small businesses have an environmental impact through electricity use, digital services, equipment, travel, packaging, printing and day-to-day activity. Our aim is to operate in a practical and responsible way by reducing unnecessary waste, avoiding unnecessary travel where possible, reusing equipment where safe and sensible, and keeping our digital and office-based work as efficient as reasonably practical.

Where documents can be supplied digitally, we prefer to avoid unnecessary printing. Where equipment, batteries, packaging or electrical items reach the end of their useful life, we aim to dispose of them responsibly using appropriate recycling or waste routes where available.

Where sales are processed through our Payhip store using Stripe, DroneField Media has enabled Stripe Climate contributions. Under this arrangement, 0.5% of eligible Stripe-processed sales are directed towards carbon removal projects supported through Stripe Climate. This contribution does not mean that DroneField Media is carbon neutral, carbon negative, or free from environmental impact.

Environmental Policy

This policy sets out our basic approach to reducing environmental impact where reasonably practical. It is intended as a practical working statement rather than a certified environmental management system.

Printed Books Sold Through Amazon

Printed books promoted or linked from this website may be offered for sale through Amazon.co.uk using Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing print-on-demand services.

Where Amazon KDP offers a lower-impact paper option for eligible text-heavy black-and-white paperbacks, DroneField Media aims to use that option where it is suitable for the book. Amazon's paper options, availability and eligibility rules can vary by marketplace, format and book type.

Not every printed book is suitable for the same paper choice. Children's colouring and activity books linked from this website use plain white paper because the pages are designed for clear line artwork and practical colouring use. This means those colouring books should not be understood as using Amazon's groundwood paper option.

This does not mean that DroneField Media printed books are carbon neutral, carbon negative, or free from environmental impact. It means that, where Amazon's print options allow and the book format is suitable, we prefer a more environmentally considered paper choice for eligible printed titles, while also using the paper type required for books where usability and print quality depend on it.

Compliance, Review and Contact

DroneField Media aims to comply with relevant UK environmental laws, waste disposal rules and guidance applicable to its activities. This policy is the responsibility of Graeme Hanson / DroneField Media and will be reviewed from time to time as the business develops.
